What is Laser Hair Removal? Laser hair removal is the process of hair removal by exposure to specific pulse wavelengths targeting the melanin in the hair. The laser light is attracted to the melanin which converts to heat which heats the hair and follicle, breaking it down-suppressing future growth.
How many sessions will I need? I recommend a minimum course of 6 treatments spaced between 4-6 weeks apart. This depends on your hair growth and patterns which will be discussed during your consultation. Some clients may then wish to have yearly/bi yearly top up treatments for any stray hairs.
How long do I leave between sessions? Usually 4-6 weeks, this will be discussed at consultation. Laser hair removal works by targeting the hair follicle at the growing stage (Anagen) by leaving the correct time between treatments we can catch the hair at the correct stage to maximise success.
Do I grow my hair between treatments? No. But you must only shave or trim -no plucking, waxing or threading. Please come unshaven to your first appointment so I can establish hair growth patterns and treatment.
Does it hurt? Our laser uses cooling technology which soothes the area creating a pleasant experience. Sometimes warmth or a pinging will be felt.
What is SHR? This is a form of IPL where the machine head is constantly moved -scanning the treatment area gradually heating the area with pulses to destroy the follicle.
How does Laser Tattoo removal work? The light from the laser is passed through the skin and breaks up the in into tiny particles. The body then disposes of these particles through the lymphatic system.
How many sessions do I need to remove a tattoo? I usually recommend 6 sessions but every tattoo is different. It depends on the colour, age and body part. Treatments are six weeks apart.
Does tattoo removal hurt? Some clients describe the sensation as an elastic band snapping across the area. It depends on the area, I will check in with you and cool the area to ensure you are comfortable.
